Work With Me

Individual Counselling

A space to understand yourself, not just manage yourself

Most of my clients come to me feeling like they’ve been holding it together for a long time. They’re functional, often the person everyone else leans on — but privately something feels flat, empty, or stuck on repeat.

We work together to make sense of where that comes from, what it’s costing you, and what starts to shift when you finally feel properly understood.

Sessions are ongoing and open-ended — there’s no fixed programme or arbitrary end date. We work at your pace, for as long as feels useful.

What to expect:

  • 50 minute sessions, online via video — or in person in Southend-on-Sea if you’d prefer
  • A warm, honest, genuinely human approach — not clinical, not stiff
  • No agenda to follow — you lead, I help you make sense of what comes up
  • An integrative approach drawing on person-centred therapy, CBT, inner child work and more — whatever actually helps you

How it starts:

We begin with a free introductory call — usually around 20 minutes. It’s a chance for you to get a feel for whether I’m the right fit, ask any questions, and for me to make sure I can offer you what you need. No pressure, no commitment.

If it feels right, we’ll book your first session from there.

Is this right for me?

I specialise in working with adults navigating the impact of childhood emotional neglect — the kind of upbringing that looked fine from the outside but left you feeling unseen, not quite enough, or disconnected from yourself and others.

I work particularly well with people who are:

  • Done with just coping and ready to actually understand themselves
  • Struggling with self-esteem, people-pleasing, or relationship patterns
  • High-functioning on the outside but running on empty inside
  • Open to an honest, warm therapeutic relationship — not just being listened to and nodded at

If you’re not sure whether this sounds like you, the intro call is the best place to start. And if I’m not the right fit, I’ll help you find someone who is.
