Honest. Warm. And probably not what you’re expecting.
I’m not going to sit in silence nodding at everything you say. I’ll listen properly, but I’ll also gently challenge you when something’s worth looking at more closely, and I’ll be straight with you when I notice something important.
I’m a big believer that the relationship between us is where the real work happens. That means I show up as a human, not a therapist-shaped robot – I get things wrong sometimes, I say so, and we figure it out together. That messiness? It’s actually the point. Most of my clients have never had someone model what it looks like to be a real, fallible person who stays anyway.
Sessions are led by you – no script, no agenda. But I’ll help you make sense of what comes up, spot the patterns you’ve stopped noticing, and figure out what you actually want rather than what you think you should want.
You can show up however you are that day. Messy, quiet, angry, unsure – it all belongs here.
I specialise in working with adults who grew up having their emotional world overlooked — not necessarily in dramatic ways, just quietly, consistently. It’s called childhood emotional neglect, and it tends to produce capable, functional adults who privately feel empty, disconnected, or like they’re always falling short.
I know this territory both personally and professionally, which means I’m not approaching it from a textbook.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy, and I’m NCPS-accredited. But more than that – I’ll show up as a real person, not a blank screen. That’s kind of the whole point.
The first call is free – it’s a chance for you to get a feel for whether I’m the right fit for you. If I’m not, I’ll help you find someone who is.
