Reflections on the new year vibe…

As the new year of 2026 rushes in, you may find yourself surrounded by posts online and chatter around you about resolutions, goals, and new starts. It can get pretty overwhelming pretty fast. You’re tired of the ‘new year, new me’ talk, or you’re excited about the possibilities a fresh year brings.

Whatever you’re feeling – it’s okay to slow it down a bit. Really think about what you want, what you need. To take some time to intentionally feel out what feels right for you, regardless of what anyone else is doing.

To some extent, it’s a little like using a therapy session – it’s your space, your time. Time to assess what matters to you. What you really value. How do you get your life to align with your values? When everyone around you is buzzing with excitement about their goals, it can be tough to resist the pull to join in. If your whole team at work is diving into Couch to 5k, you might feel tempted to lace up your running shoes, even if you actually despise running and would prefer to swim for fitness. When your neighbour keeps telling you that they’re ditching caffeine, you might think it sounds like a great idea, but you love your first cup in the morning and can’t imagine life without it.

The new year buzz is everywhere, but it doesn’t mean that your focus and energy have to get spread thin like butter on toast. You can decide for yourself what your new year will look like.

Your new year could involve:

Whatever you choose for your year, or don’t choose for that matter, is entirely up to you.

If you’re looking for a little guidance or support as you let go of 2025, you’re in the right place. As we step into this new year, it’s a wonderful time to pause and reflect on what feels right for you. With that in mind, I’d love to invite you to join my January Reset on the 13th.

It’s going to be a relaxed and cosy gathering where we can gently let go of what we don’t need anymore, get clear on our hopes for the year, and set some intentions, all at a pace that feels good for you. There’s absolutely no pressure; this isn’t therapy, just a warm space to be yourself. Whether you want to share your thoughts with the group or simply soak it all in quietly, you’re welcome to engage however feels most comfortable. I hope to see you there!

Wishing you a happy and peaceful new year,

Hannah
